Zimbabwe wants to be a knowledge society
The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Bill, will put in motion the strategic plan to develop telecommunications and Internet infrastructure, and enhance capacity to produce local software and hardware, The five-year ICT plan, scheduled to start this year, aims to address issues such as cyber-security; ICT utilisation and infrastructure development; e-business and e-government; and ICT investment and partnerships.
The bill will help transform Zimbabwe into a knowledge society. The plan will get finances through private-public partnerships.
Biggest Technology Company
Apple Company, the maker of iPod, iPad, and Mac has pushed past Microsoft to become the world’s biggest technology company in May 2010. Apple Company is worth about $222 billion compared to Microsoft’s 218 billion. link

Botswana has recently launched Botswana Innovation Hum (BIH) that will make Botswana to be the leading African destination for innovative businesses. Mauritius Plans to adopt green computing
The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology is drafting a “green” ICT policy document, which will promote the concept and act as a roadmap to sustain present green ICT initiatives. It will also devise and implement strategies in for green ICT and e-waste management. Probably Mauritius may be the first Africa country to launch such climate saving program. Link

  Rao Gorantla
  Main Author of ICT Books and Research consultant

Rao is currently working as a Professor in the Faculty of Technology, Durham College (www.durhamc.on.ca) since 2001.  Before joining  Durham College, he taught in various universities in India (1977-1980), Malaysia (1980-1989)  and Brunei (1989-2000) as a professor in electronics & computer science departments, a coordinator of computer aided learning center and Head of computer center. His research interests are in the area of ICT, digital signal processing, technology education, microprocessors controllers, and e-learning. He has authored/ coauthored 10 textbooks and more than 40 research articles related to ICT, engineering and computers.

  Devi Ambati

Devi has been in IT field for the last thirty years as a consultant and system developer for a number of international companies. She has been also teaching since 1980 as an ICT professor in Asia and North America. In 1985 she developed a computer authoring system 'CAICAS' that automates the process of teaching and learning materials. She was associated in writing ICT books at the pre-school level and also secondary school level. Later, she has developed interested in developing online course materials. She is currently teaching ICT online as well as full time courses in the area of Oracle, PHP, XML, and PL/ SQL in Canada.

  Co-Author of ICT books & Business partner of a learning technology company

An avid and versatile software engineer, Bharat has served stints first as a Consultant at Caro Systems in Toronto and then more recently as Software Engineer at Bentley Systems and Siemens Medical Solutions, both in Pennsylvania, USA. Besides, he has also co-authored a few of information technology books for high school students in the Asian and African regions. Holding a Master of Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a MBA from the Penn State University with a specialization in marketing and new venture development, his interests include software architecture, development processes, and writing IT related books.

  Nuseeb Noorani
  ICT Teacher

Nuseeb is our International consultant from Mauritius. He graduated with the British Computer Society (BCS) certificate in Computer Science and Information Systems. Later he obtained Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with the Mauritius Institute of Education in 2008. He is also a Certified Cisco Certified Academic Instructor CCAI, registered Trainer for IC3 Courses with Certiport ® and was awarded the CompTIA A+ certification. Currently he is working as an Educator in a State Secondary School teaching Computer Studies and Computing.

  Billy Batlegang
  ICT Trainer

Billy is our international consultant in Botswana. He obtained a bachelor degree in (Information Systems), Bond South Africa-South African Campus of Bond University. Later he worked as a faculty member at NIIT Francistown, Botswana teaching computer courses. He also taught ICT Computer Awareness courses at Francistown Senior Secondary School. Currently he is working a Software Engineering with Objects tutor for the United Kingdom Open University. He has co-authored Form 1-3 Mathematics books through Cambridge Publishers.

  Joy Arjoon Singh
  Assistant Principal

Mrs Joy Arjoon Singh is an experienced ICT teacher and educationalist. After obtaining a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of West Indies in 1988 she worked in various secondary schools in Trinidad & Tobago as a teacher teaching ICT and mathematics courses. Later in 2006, she received her MEd post-graduate degree from the Mount Saint Vincent University, Canada. She is a qualified Microsoft Certified Professional A+ Certified Technician . Currently she is working as an acting principle at San Fernando Central Secondary School, Trinidad. She is our international consultant who helped us in bringing out the Information Technology for Secondary Schools – an O’Level IT textbook used in Trinidad and Tobago.
